Is there a way to use Oracle Proxy Authentication via XAware? We would want the middle tier to perform certain queries as individual users as described in the following article. http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/java.111/b31224/proxya.htm

Please advise.

Thanks

The SQL BizComponent (and Stored Proc BizComp) do not specifically support the Oracle specific openProxySession() call to establish the proxy authentication specific to Oracle. Typically, we have used a JNDI datasource in a mid tier app server to establish a common connection, but I realize this doesn't track a specific user from the original request.

It is of course possible to use the Java Bizcomp in XAware to establish your own connection using JDBC and Oracle proxy authentication calls for queries; however, that approach doesn't take advantage of the mapping capabilities, connection pooling, transaction management, and so forth of the SQL/SP BizComps, and requires much more custom coding.
